Our agenda
A practical plan for Kwara North
Five priorities that matter to families, farmers, traders and students in Baruten, Edu, Kaiama, Moro and Patigi, and what Haske will push for in the Senate.
Safety and security
Safer communities and safer livelihoods, on our farms, on our rivers and along the border.
- Press for stronger protection of farms, river routes and border communities, especially in Baruten and Kaiama.
- Bring traditional rulers, community leaders and security agencies together to protect lives, property and livelihoods.
Roads, bridges and river crossings
Connecting communities to schools, clinics, markets and work.
- Push for federal attention to the roads that hold the district together, including Gure–Gwanara, Yashikira–Chikanda, Lafiagi–Patigi and Share–Olooru.
- Fight for bridges, culverts and river crossings for riverine communities in Edu, Patigi and Moro.
Farming, fishing and trade
From production to prosperity: produce more, preserve more, process more, earn more.
- Better farm inputs and improved seeds, with extension services farmers can actually reach.
- Support for rice farmers in Patigi and sugarcane growers in Edu.
- Growing the cashew and shea value chains in Baruten.
- Support for fishing communities in Moro.
- Storage and agro-processing facilities, so less of every harvest goes to waste.
- Stronger links between producers and the markets that buy from them.
Education, youth and skills
A young person should be able to build a future without having to leave home to find one.
- Rehabilitate schools across the district.
- Scholarships and educational support for deserving students.
- Skills acquisition centres in all five LGAs, teaching ICT and digital skills, welding and fabrication, tailoring and fashion, solar installation and agro-processing.
- Support for entrepreneurs and small businesses, so new skills turn into income.
Health care close to home
Good health care shouldn’t depend on how far you live from a major town.
- Primary health centres that are properly staffed and stocked with essential medicines and equipment.
- Better care for mothers and children.
- Malaria prevention and treatment.
- Basic emergency services and community health outreach.
- Better access for hard-to-reach riverine communities.
